Scotia House Bed and Breakfast Reviews

My wife and I had a lovely time in Harrogate and the Scotia House B&B was fantastic, we arrived early (11am) and dropped our bags (in fact the room was ready for us).

Large double room, with sofa and tea & coffee. What we really appreciated was the offer of fresh milk for tea/coffee making.

Now lets talk breakfast - I travel a lot with work and have never found a cooked breakfast that I enjoy - guess what - I ate it all which must be the 1st for many years.

One complaint (not really) - ticking alarm clock simple solution - place it in the bathroom :-) - not a complaint really - will definitely recommend and use again.

Lovely place and really friendly service!

The Scotia has only been opened for 4 weeks after being completely revamped by the owner. The owner was welcoming throughout and nothing was a bother. Rooms decorated to a very high standard. I know I won't get it at this rate again as people will soon find out how good it is!

What a great B&B. We had a super break. It made for a lovely night away.

I stayed here for 3 nights bed & breakfast while attending a conference at the International Conference Centre at Hotel Harrogate. Being literally across the road from the conference centre it is highly convenient. But more important the welcome was friendly, the food superb (wonderful fresh fruit at breakfast including blueberries & strawberries) and the room stylish, comfortable and spotless. When I was too tired to go out for an evening meal the landlady offered me tea and a delicious toasted sandwich. I would highly recommend Scotia house for conference goers but also for a city break to this pretty spa town.

This is a newly opened Guest House, with a fabulous welcome and well finished refurbishment. I would be tempted to give it a poor review if it kept it secret. Too late the secrets out...

I stayed here to visit the Harrogate Conference Centre which is directly opposite. I was concerned that parking might be a hassle so close to the Town Centre but permits for on street parking nearby were given at check in. The property had been recently renovated to a modern, high standard. The en-suite facilities and bedroom were excellent. The only thing lacking was WIFI in my room. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the breakfast in the morning was superb.

Cannot fault Scotia House B&B, newly refurbished, spotlessly clean, very welcoming! Breakfast was excellent, with good choice and hot food cooked to order. Excellent location for both business and pleasure. I would highly recommend staying here if visiting Harrogate, great price and owners very helpful, they made it a home from home!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room by was clean and well appointed. I didn't try the cooked breakfast but the continental was lovely and after expressing my love of fresh fruit on the first day, was greeted by a larger selection on the second! Jams were of a high quality. My only niggle would be that I would have preferred granary bread instead of wholemeal but its a minor point. The owner was lovely and found just the right balance of being friendly but not intrusive or over-chatty. Which is perfect when you're still trying to wake up!

We stayed at Scotia House for a long weekend in Harrogate and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was friendly and helpful with local knowledge of the area. The accommodation was spotless with quality and comfortable furnishings and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Scotia House is within easy walking distance of pubs/restaurants in Harrogate and driving of distance of the Yorkshire Dales and York. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
