Terms and Conditions

RESERVATION POLICY

All prices quoted include breakfast a choice of the Hot English Breakfast or the Cool Customer Breakfast.  From 1 March to 31 October, all weekend bookings that include a Saturday night must have a minimum 2-night stay (Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday) as is indicated on the reservation system.

Unfortunately, children cannot be accommodated at the guest house as we do not have capacity for extra beds in the rooms.

 

Payment Policy

When making your reservation through our website, 100% for a one-night stay is charged to your credit card.  For bookings of two nights or more, 50% of the accommodation is charged as a deposit from your credit card.  A two-night minimum is required for public holidays and weekends between 1 March and 31 October.

Deposit amount required - A 50% deposit will be charged on reservations of two nights or more.  A 100% deposit will be required on reservation for one-night stays.

Cancellation / refund policy - Outstanding balances (50%) will be collected within 7 (seven) days, prior to your arrival.  Once the inititial deposit and the balance are collected they are non-refundable.

Should you cancel 8 (eight) days or more prior to your arrival the 50% balance will not be charge.  

MASTERCARD, VISA, DEBIT cards are accepted.  AMEX and Diners Club cards will be charged a further 2%.

GIFT CERTIFICATES are available and can be used as cash value towards accommodation, or for the full cost of one or more nights.

 

Cancellation Policy

The deposit and balance of payment, once collected, are non-refundable.  However, if cancellation is made 8 (eight) days or more prior to your arrival, the balance will not be charged and you will encounter no further cost.  The deposit is non-refundable.   

 

Insurance

We recommend all guests have travel insurance to cover cancellation, curtailment and loss of baggage, personal effects and money.  For those with travel insurance that includes trip cancellation benefits, you may receive reimbursement for prepaid, non refundable trip costs, when cancelling for a reason covered by your insurer.

 

Check-in and Check-out Times

Check-in: 3 - 7pm (special arrangements may be made, where possible, for alternate check-in times)

Check-out: 10am

 

Parking

Public parking is available on Alexandra Road.  Parking permits must be collected each day and are valid for 24 hours from midday.  The permit must indicate the date and vehicle registration number.  Permits will be provided on check-in;  however, should you require a permit before or after your check-in / check-out time a fee of £5.00 will be charged.

 

Smoke-free Property

Smoking is not permitted.  Any person found to be smoking in the building or within 3 meters of the building will be subject to a £150.00 cleaning fee and requested to leave immediately.

 

No Pets

Pets are not allowed.

 

Laundry

An iron and ironing board is available on request.  There are dry cleaners and laundry services within walking distance of Scotia House.

 

Makeup Removal

Scotia House prides itself on the highest standards of cleanliness and luxurious toiletries and ask that guests do not use our bath towels to remove makeup.  Face cloths and makeup wipes are provided for your convenience.  A replacement cost will be charged should the towels be stained/damaged.  Your cooperation in this regard is appreciated.
